If you intend to store beans without canning, do it properly. First of all, make sure that the jars are hermetically sealed. Next, store them in a cool place where dryness and moderate temperature are maintained.
Freezing can be an excellent solution. It is suitable not only for young soft beans, but also for mature and dry ones. Put the beans in bags and send them to the freezer, then they will be fresh in winter.
A glass jar with an airtight lid can also be useful for storing beans. If you pour them into the jar, put a clove of garlic and close the lid tightly, no living creatures will encroach on your harvest.
A plastic bottle is suitable for storing perfectly dried clean beans. You can put garlic and bay leaves at the bottom, they will scare away pests and will not affect the taste of the beans.
You can store beans in the stems in the attic or basement. To prevent rodents and other pests from encroaching on the harvest, the bean stems should be covered with dried dill.
Dry the collected beans in the oven – high temperature will help get rid of all possible living things in the beans, as well as larvae. And then you can pour the beans into glass jars or plastic containers with lids.
